Weed & Wine Event California

Summer is upon us, and in legal markets around the country the calendar is already bursting with events centered on cannabis. California’s entering its first summer as an adult-use state and there’s no shortage of things to participate in over the next few months. Whether you’re into cannabis competitions, conferences and workshops or festivals & music, the Golden State has you covered.

Conferences

Conference season is in full swing, and the NCIA Cannabis Business Summit & Expo July 25-27 in San Jose is definitely worth adding to your list. Organized by the National Cannabis Industry Association, this conference is in its 5th year and promises 2 days of informative workshops, tracks and trainings on everything from how California’s rec market to-date to investing to responsible consumption – all led by top experts in the industry.

NCIA Conference

On August 25-26, the World CBD Expo in San Jose is the chance for professionals and consumers to hear more about the benefits of CBD. Watch presentations and attend seminars, then walk the exhibitor floor to learn about CBD products on the market.

Education/Workshops

Learn about best practices across multiple areas of the cannabis industry at the Cannabis Compliance Seminar: Technology & Regulations on July 23 in Los Angeles. From hiring employees to navigating the process of working with government and other officials, this seminar will cover a lot of territory so bring your notebook.

Advocacy

Recreational cannabis is legal in California, but that doesn’t mean there’s no work to be done. For anyone looking for ways to advocate for legalization, the Marijuana Anti-Prohibition Project (MAPP) holds monthly meetings that bring local citizens and elected officials together to discuss reform. The Palm Springs/Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin/Joshua Tree meetings are scheduled for July 7 and occur monthly, along with other MAPP meetings in the area – check the link often for the most updated information.

Festivals, Concerts & Parties

If you’re in Long Beach check out Like Mindz presents: Off Da Couch!, the June 28 cannabis social that boasts live music and a DJ, comedy, art, tasty treats, and best of all, a 420 patio. If that’s not enough to get you off the couch, maybe the $4.20 ticket price will!

It’s hard to believe that there’s never been an Oakland Cup but sure enough, the 420 mecca I call home will be holding its first ever! On June 30, an impressive group of industry professionals, experts and advocates will be tasked with judging cannabis flower, concentrates, edibles, topicals and much more in search for the best that Cali has to offer.

At the Chalice Festival in Victorville July 13-15, attendees can look forward to a cannabis competition overseen by a team of expert judges, various exhibitors showing off their beautiful glassware and other goodies, and live performances from artists like Ludacris and The Pharcyde.

Wine and Weed

For cannassuers who like a little vino with their ganja, the 2nd Annual North Coast Wine & Weed Symposium  August 2 is a chance to explore how the changing landscape of cannabis legalization will impact the wine industry. In addition to product vendors, they’ve lined up a roster of speakers from both industries to discuss a variety of topics from regulatory updates and tourism, so this event is not to be missed.

Health & Wellness

If you’re looking to get active, the 5th Annual 420 Games comes to San Francisco on August 4. This event crushes lazy stoner stigmas by inviting athletes and fitness lovers who openly embrace cannabis to participate in 4.20 miles of exercise. Whether you run, walk or ride the whole way, awaiting you at the end are exhibitors, speeches, live music, and even a Qi Gong session led by former football player Ricky Williams.

This is just a taste of the summer fun happening in California. Lots of events are on the calendar with likely many more in the works as we speak!
