Summer is upon us, and in legal markets around the country the calendar is already bursting with events centered on cannabis. Whether you live in a legal state or are planning to visit one this summer, Weedguide has put together event guides for the largest adult-use markets in the country.
Colorado is packed with events this summer that range everywhere from a deep dive into compliant cannabis packaging, to a festival where CBD is as much of the star as THC. Here are some of the events we can’t wait to check out!
Education & Workshops
Medical providers are invited to attend the free Marijuana, Opioid Use Disorder, and Chronic Pain Update June 27 in Alamosa. Doctors, RNs, dentists and all health professionals can look forward to TED-style discussions covering cannabis, pain management and opioids.
Meanwhile, accountants and CPAs trying to navigate the complicated process of tax preparation for a federally illegal industry will want to attend Preparing Tax Returns for the Legal Marijuana Industry July 26 in Denver. And if after 9 hours you’re hungry for more information, take the intermediate and advanced course Cannabis Tax Preparation, Planning and Defense the very next day.
Festivals, Concerts & Parties
The 7/10™ Festival in Denver is about spreading the word about and celebrating CBD and THC. From July 10-13 there will be music, educational seminars, infused meals and so much more to honor the progress of cannabis legalization in Denver and beyond.
If you like a little nostalgia with your adventure, try CannaVenture® Presents NORML Summer Camp 2018. From July 13-15 on a private camping estate in Guffey, you can participate in a number of fun outdoor activities like hiking, Capture the Flag, Cornhole, Horseshoes, and Arts & Crafts with the added bonus that open cannabis consumption is allowed and encouraged.
Health & Wellness
The 3rd Annual 420 Games on June 23 in Glendale focuses on de-stigmatizing cannabis by embracing its integration into exercise and fitness. For the first time, there will be a Decathlon featuring 10 athletic activities including a 40-yard dash, long jump, tests of endurance like max sit-ups in 1 minute, and a 4.20 mile sprint (I’m exhausted just from typing that). Once you’ve handled all of that like a champ, there will be plenty of vendor booths, music and a beer garden to enjoy.
If you’re looking for something more restorative, the Ganja Yoga Retreat by Twisted Sister Yoga is happening July 6-8 in Denver. You’ll enjoy such activities as daily yoga and meditation classes, mindful coloring, and transformational exploration workshops, all happening on a 420-acre ranch surrounded by mountains.
This is just a taste of the summer fun happening in Colorado. Lots of events are on the calendar with likely many more in the works as we speak!
