Is Canada the Future of Cannabis Tourism? - I Love Growing Marijuana
Friday, Oct 19, 2018

Recreational cannabis is now legal in Canada and in case you didn’t notice, it’s kind of a big deal. Canada is the first major country to legalize weed like this, and as such a lot of people are watching and waiting to see what happens. Will Canada be able to handle legal weed? How will the economy fare? One question on a lot of people’s minds is how cannabis tourism will do in Canada. Is Canada the future of cannabis tourism, a new Amsterdam if you will?

It is very possible that Canada could become a new hot spot for cannabis tourism for one main reason: public consumption. Cannabis consumption is allowed in public in most Canadian provinces, which is a huge difference from recreational states in the US. With the exception of a few places, such as schools and hospitals, you can light up pretty much anywhere you want, including designated hotel rooms. This is going to be a big draw for tourists, who will naturally want to indulge in their hotel rooms. Canada also has cannabis cafes that have started to pop up all over the country, even prior to legalization.
